Happy Diwali!

​Diwali is one of the largest Hindu festivals, celebrated by many the United States every year. It is also recognized by Sikhism and Jainism. Typically a five day festival, the third day [today!] is celebrated as the main "festival of lights" and is observed on the 15th day of the Kartika month in the Hindu calendar.

Also referred to as Dīvali, Dīpāwali, or Deepavali, this festival is linked to the goddess Lakshmi who symbolizes prosperity, wealth, and happiness. Lamps, bonfires, fireworks and even simple candles are illuminated on this holiday to symbolize the victory of righteousness and the lifting of spiritual darkness.
